I love staying home, but I miss my paycheck!

So, I've always wanted to save money when it comes to grocery shopping since that is the easiest way to take control of spending. Before Tristan, and when we have 2 incomes, I mostly would run to the grocery almost EVERY day to pick up stuff for dinner. I would end up spending a lot of money & paying full price. Now that we have a baby to diaper & feed & only one income, I am more conscious of where & what we are spending money.

Now, I am not one of those crazy women who you see with those baseball card notebooks full of coupons & 20 cereal boxes in their cart. I don't have THAT much time to sort coupons, look through ads, and go from store to store just to get the best price. We live in a small town outside of the city so we only have 2 grocery stores & the drugstores are a good 15 minutes away. Add an infant to the mix & my anxiety= Disaster!

I try to mea lplan too, but some days I just can't prepare a dinner with a cranky baby who won't let me put him down. & Tom can be picky when it comes to his meals :)

But, I have to say I am proud of my trip today just to Lowe's foods where I managed to save $24! It helped that I really look at prices & deals & the coupons I have from the Sunday paper. Plus it helped that Lowe's is doubling coupons everyday right now.

Onto the little one:

Tristan is 7 1/2 months now! In a way he doesn't seem that old because he isn't crawling & doesn't have any teeth yet. He's also not sleeping through the night either. We tried to sleep train this past weekend, but we chickened out. So the plan is this weekend!

He is definitely getting more vocal. His sounds are sounding more like words and the past few days he's been saying "yah yah yah" a lot.

We are on 2nd stage foods now & he has those 3 times a day. His favorite foods are sweet potatoes, prunes [I know, strange!], & peaches.
