So much has changed in the last 6 months.
January was awful. My father-in-law went back into the hospital and sadly, passed away on the 11th. We are all still in shock over it. Doesn't seem real, yet it's been 6 months since we've seen him. So we had an unexpected visit to Connecticut where all the family came together, which were the moments that helped us through it. It was nice to have all the grandkids together playing. And it was cold! Connecticut had had a bunch of snow recently. Luckily it didn't interfere with our traveling.
We miss you George!
We had our fence put in the beginning of May & ado
pted a second dog at the same time. We both wanted to adopt another dog when we had a fence. We had put in an application for the local german shepherd rescue yet I continued to look at the shelters. I found a shepherd mix at the SPCA and went to meet him. He was so sweet & had a good meet & greet with our current dog. So once we introduce my husband & son to him, we took him home! In just a month, he has grown to be the size of our other dog (& still growing) and they have become the best of buddies. They often have Lady & the Tramp moments where they will chew on the same stick..so cute!
The school year has come to a close & I am off for the summer. But, I recently was readmitted into college & will be finishing my last 3 classes over the next year & (hopefully no more interruptions) will graduate next May! I am taking one class this summer (classes start the 30th- eek!) I'm very nervous, because if I didn't do well before a baby, how am I going to do well with a toddler!! It will also be hard because it's crammed into 5 weeks & will be every day driving to campus. Wish me luck!
My mother-in-law has gotten me hooked on garage sales. We go out almost every Saturday looking for great deals. I'll have to show you some of my finds later!
I also have become better at couponing & saving money. I'm not as extreme as those people on the TLC show, but I try to atleast saving 25+ each shopping trip.
My trip to CVS yesterday saved me $51 and I got $14.50 in Extracare bucks. I'll show you what I got in that transaction later too.
Tristan has changed alot. He knows so many words. His favorites right now are:
Vacuum (he loves that thing), he'll say Vacuum all done
Trash
Sweep (are you seeing the pattern here?)
Mow
Mailman
He loves The Fresh Beat Band on Nickelodeon
He knows all the pets names [ Stinko, BooBoo, Bee, Pup-Pup] <-all nicknames
He started to say his cousins name in April.
He knows his daddy's name and will yell for him when I do
He knows how to say "Run" because I'll say it when I let the dogs out to warn the squirrels eating by the bird feeder. There are some baby ones that I don't want our dogs to get!
He's starting to say "Have it" when he wants something. He'll say "Here you go" and "thank you" and "Bye bye" to people when we leave.
We went to the pool last Thursday for the first time this summer and he w
as nervous at first but relax and had fun watching people. He took a little spill on the concrete because he was so excited and ran away from us.
He loves his little blanket that we call "Buddy" and his other one that looks like a duck "Duckie" and we take them everywhere.
He's still dependent on the paci. LOVES those things to death.
He still drinks milk from a bottle. I've tried many times to get him to drink it from a cup cold and warm and just doesn't like it. I recently started to try again and he did drink some, so maybe he's getting over the bottle. Let's hope so!
But that's about it! Typical toddler having tantrums sometimes and learning new words every week. He's really starting to look and act like a little boy :)
